Arbor Place Eye Care COVID-19 Guidelines
In accordance with CDC guidelines and recommendations, our office is adopting the following protocol to avoid unnecessary exposure of the COVID-19 virus among patients and staff.
Before Arrival:
- We will reschedule appointments if patients have symptoms of respiratory infection (ie. cough, fever, or shortness of breath) until they have been cleared from illness for 14 days.
- In addition, if any patient (or patient’s family member) has traveled out of the state in the last 14 days, we may reschedule the appointment until that period of time has ended, regardless of symptoms.
- Additional family members or friends outside of the appointed patient will not be allowed in the facility with exception of a parent accompanying a minor.
- If a patient has been diagnosed with COVID-19, the patient must present a negative COVID-19 test that is 14 days or older OR proof that it has been 30 days since the positive test.
Upon Arrival:
- A mask that covers the nose and mouth must be worn in order to enter our facility and must be worn at all times.
- Please wait at the designated stop sign at the entrance. A team member will take each patient’s temperature prior to entry.
- Once cleared through the temperature check, each patient must wash his or her hands upon entering the facility.
- If your cell phone must be utilized during your time at our facility, we kindly ask that you disinfect it prior to usage.
- If there is more than one patient in the office, please mind the designated signs on the floor that are placed 6 feet apart.
During Your Visit:
- Our staff will extensively disinfect all common areas and medical equipment after each patient.
- Our team will disinfect all pens and clipboards after each usage.
- Please note that there will be a separate container for used pens.
- We will not offer to touch your debit/credit card.
- The credit card machine will be disinfected after each use.
- We will not be conducting the “puff test” as this disperses particles into the air. Your eye pressure will be checked with another method.
- Our doctors will not shake your hand, please do not take offense!
What to Expect from Our Team/Office:
- We have extended the length of all appointments to decrease the number of patients in the office at one time.
- Our team will wear masks at all times.
- Each team member’s temperature will be checked prior to each shift.
- We will frequently wash our hands.
- The waiting area will only have two chairs greater than 6 feet apart.
- We will only have the capability of checking one patient in or out at a time.
- To avoid contamination, our complimentary water station, toy station, and magazines have been removed from the waiting area.
- A new set of gloves will be worn by the doctor if he or she must touch your eyes or face during the examination.
- Contact lenses must be shipped to the patients’ homes to reduce exposure and reduce the number of patients in the office.
